Instrument Assisted Massage involves a tool utilized to perform massage on a patient. The tool is used against the skin, moving quickly in different directions as fascia is multi-directional tissue. By doing this it frees layers of adhesion in the tissue and allows blood to move towards the surface which is part of the healing process, you may sometimes see redness or bruising involved when using the tool.
